IRLP node 6214

Due to the changes at VK5RSB with the requirement for the input CTCSS tone of 91.5Hz, the IRLP Node 6214 has now been transferred to the VK5RAD 70cm frequency, 439.925 MHz.

As AREG are the sponsors for both the 70cm repeaters, VK5RSB 439.900 and VK5RAD 439.925, AREG were planning changes with the IRLP node with the intention to transfer it to 439.925 in the future. However due to interference problems with VK5RSB necessitating implementing CTCSS on the repeater’s receiver, the transfer of the IRLP node 6214 has been brought forward.

AREG trusts that the transfer of the IRLP node 6214 is of value to the amateur community and that the system is available to all, including those who do not have the CTCSS capability in their radio equipment.

AREG General Meeting 19th October 2012

The Amateur Radio Experimenters Group next general meeting is Friday the 19th of October 2012.  For those with out a calendar, iPhone or Android device handy that is this coming Friday.

With the nights at last warming up at last it is time to break out of our winter shack hibernation and venture out to the next AREG meeting.  How quickly a month passes.

This months meeting is another general get together.  Last month saw a good number of members attend, and certainly a good night was had by all.  The formal part of the meeting will be kept to as short a time as possible, we set a record last month at just shy of 30 minutes.  We’d certainly like to better this record in the coming months.   I’d certainly encourage any members that have been doing something interesting over the last few weeks or months to bring it along for an impromptu show and tell.

The invitation for the evening is extended to all persons who may be interested in amateur radio, AREG’s activities and see an amateur radio club in action, however the evening will be primarily focused around AREG’s activities, past, present and future.

So come along and visit at an AREG meeting, find out what the AREG is up to and participate in an evening with other amateur radio operators.

Coffee, tea, cake will be on for supper, that is provided one the incoming executive have learnt how to use petty cash.

We hope to see you there.

AREG General Meeting 21st Sept 2012

AREG’s next general meeting is Friday the 21st of Sept 2012.

This meeting will be a general meeting/gathering and the first for the new committee, so be nice !   The formal part of the meeting will be kept to as short a time as possible.   I’d certainly encourage any members that have been doing something interesting over the last few winter months to bring it along for an impromptu show and tell.

Spring is upon us and the weather is warming up, so I hope this sees more members venture out of an evening away from the safety of the family heater or foot warmer (amplifier) under the bench in the Hamshack.

Coffee, tea, cake will be on for supper that is provided one of the new executive remember to do so.

And…. we’re back

Well after a short hiatus the AREG website is back.  After having suffered server failure and dealing with a less than friendly domain registrar we’ve taken the liberty of changing from physical to virtual servers, rebuilding databases, setting up better backups and rejiggering our entire domain and settings.  Fingers crossed we can leave it in auto pilot for some time.
