What
things assist AREG with repeater construction?
The standardisation
of repeater components where possible assists AREG as a very small
group of people support the repeater systems we look after. The
repeaters themselves may be made of equipment ranging from slightly
modified commercial equipment to things that are hard to recognise
once the process of repeater construction has been completed.
What
makes up an AREG Repeater?
Take a look at the
repeater description and design pages for more understanding on
what AREG design and construction considerations go into the repeaters
we build. The diagram shown below provides a summary of the system
components that make up an AREG repeater.

Why
does AREG build Repeaters?
The members of AREG
have been tinkering with repeaters and building them long before
AREG was formed. So in some ways it was destined that AREG would
be involved in some way, shape or form in the repeater building
and maintance in South Australia.
The main reasson that
AREG builds repeaters and maintains them is that our members get
a great deal of fun out of doing so. AREG also provides a service
to its members and the greater Amateur radio community in the
process.
