NASA Audio

Live NASA Audio, in Adelaide on AREG Voice Repeater VK5RSB

The audio is being relayed via the Internet using IRLP (Internet Repeater Linking Project) from node 9356, then transmitted on 439.900MHz VK5RSB 70cm voice repeater in Adelaide. Or you could use the VK5ZBR echolink node when available.

How to Listen

Using a UHF radio scanner or amateur radio receiver, tune to 439.900 MHz, and set the mode to FM narrow band.

The signal from the repeater can be heard across Adelaide and surrounding country. We have coverage ranging up to 100Km from Summertown if your in the clear. From time to time a small break in transmission will be heard as communications between NASA and the Shuttle stop. This usually does not happen for more than about 5 to 10 minutes.

If you can’t receive the audio from VK5RSB repeater, other options are available to receive a live audio feed. Please have a look at the NASA web site.

If you are a licence amateur radio operator press DTMF number 0 to check the link status. if the repeater system announces the link is clear you can then reconnect the link. First announce your callsign then press DTMF "access" numbers followed by 9356. The link should take a few moments to confire your request and connect to the NASA link. Not all missions use the same reflector, check on the IRLP web page http://www.irlp.net for details.
